Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-10-15

These terms cover shopaeo.ai, the free AI visibility checker and the ShopAEO app, which works with Shopify (together, "ShopAEO"). ShopAEO is run by its founders in New York, NY, USA. Our company details will be listed here once it is registered. By using ShopAEO you agree to these terms. If you use it for a business, you agree on that business's behalf.

What ShopAEO does

ShopAEO checks a Shopify store for things that affect how search engines and AI assistants read it, suggests fixes, and makes approved changes. We don't control Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity or any other search engine or assistant, so we can't promise rankings, traffic, mentions in AI answers or sales.

The beta

During the beta, features may change, break or be removed, and we may limit how many stores take part. The app is free during the beta. We'll tell you before anything you use starts to cost money, and paid plans are billed through Shopify.

Your store and your approvals

The free checker

Only check stores you own or manage, or have permission to check. Don't use the checker to overload a site or to collect data at scale. We may limit or block use that looks automated or abusive.

Acceptable use

Don't use ShopAEO to break the law, to publish misleading or infringing content, to interfere with our systems, or to resell or copy the service.

Fees

Paid plans, once offered, are charged per store through Shopify's billing and follow Shopify's billing terms. Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe.

Ending your use

You can stop using ShopAEO any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. When you uninstall, we delete your store's data as described in our Privacy Policy.

No warranty

ShopAEO is provided "as is". AI-written suggestions may contain mistakes, and checker results and reports are estimates based on public pages and AI answers that change over time. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits or data, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing.

Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of content you approved or published, or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll update the date above and tell app users in the app. Continuing to use ShopAEO after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
